Law 11/2023, which entered into force on 9 November 2023, enables the creation of the electronic notarial protocol, facilitating the exchange of information and generating immediate electronic copies of notarial documents. For the first time, citizens and companies can obtain electronic copies of their documents and share them with other bodies, saving time and paper.

In addition, the law allows citizens to choose notaries online, conduct secure videoconferences, and facilitates the provision of online notarial services, especially in the commercial field. The Notarial e-Office will offer these services with high security measures. The Notarial Citizen Portal acts as the gateway to this electronic office, with more than 300,000 registered individuals and legal entities. Notaries have been adopting advanced technologies for more than two decades to offer more agile services to citizens and businesses, pioneering technological development in the EU.
